So, now, I'm going to let myself celebrate this for the first time today. That took so much work from so many people, including a number of trans young people and their whānau who stood up to have their voices heard in these proceedings. I'll forever be grateful.

On a personal note, this has been the most stressful experience of my life. Being exposed to so much hate and not being able to speak about it without jeopardising the outcome has been rough, especially when we heard the Crown would argue against trans people's protection from discrimination.
