like i've been quoted hilariously offensively high rates for sponsorships or the like that i KNOW would have very low return, but you know that market exists bc some established game pubs do keep spending and spending to seem like something's being done

what ive learned from this year in marketing and advertising for games is huge sections of the ad/marketing industry are money black holes that publishers or devs spend thousands if not millions on for pretty much no measurable gain. some of it might work but a lot seems like tea leaves to me
