Microbiologists here in New Zealand worked extensively with Māori groups to find phrase for "microbiology": "mātau koiora moroiti ." Dr. Ali Nazmi created this gift: that term for microbiology, with a map of New Zealand and a streak plate. It's a nice way to remember my time here. #Grateful

Two weeks from today, Jennifer Quinn arrives in Christchurch NZ. We will tour South Island and then fly home to Tacoma. We have been apart a long time now. It will be good to be with my truly better half.
