I have no doubt that school closures caused long term harm. I think that we cld have done much more to mitigate that harm at the time & after. What I've not seen is what a realistic alternative would have been - esp in Jan 2021, when lockdown w schools open could not keep R<1 for alpha in SE in Dec.
