One potential Arc for Twitter might be to also become federated using ActivityPub . So Twitter users could take to threads and vice versa... Then it's a matter of who has the best client... And users can keep switching based on current alligiencE

when anyone can build and connect to #threads , and maybe even build its own client , it's very hard to pin them for anti compete. from mastodon, to tumbler, to wordpress, ...everyone can federate with it.

I have been thinking why would #meta embrace #fediverse . Threads might already have more users than the entire fediverse and then I realised : I have been talking about how meta needs Twitter to survive for anti competition concerns... but those concerns may be allayed if you do fediverse.
