Good animation is not movement, good animation is what it needs to be in order to communicate. That can mean no motion at all. The animator of this shot originally had movement, in revs it was taken out completely so as not to distract the eye Most of the revs when ppl started were 'move less'

I'm doing a workshop with some students and a lot of my advice is like ,less movement - less words. ('dialog is not acting' is a refrain) So many people with a love of characters make the mistake of only focusing on those 'fun' aspects and gloss over everything else that communicates just as much!

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.
