Sorry… the 2025 US Dept of Transportation order that prevents Mexican carriers from starting new service to the US from MEX/NLU (which, now that I read your original post, I see isn’t _necessarily_ where the service would be from) www.regulations.gov/document/DOT...

ATH is an interesting choice, I've been seeing articles lately about tourism to Greece from the US picking up and they could be ahead of the curve here. OTOH Paris feels just like more of the AS/DL "if they fly there we have to too" thing. Especially with AF on the route already as well.

I expect MAD-SEA on IB but only if AS codeshares on the route. With all the beyond MAD connections on IB & all the beyond SEA connections AS offers, it will be a smart O/W route. The Mediterranean is hot & ripe for tourism, Most western states can connect to ATH via SEA easily.

Well this is interesting. CDG make sense as a top market, but i see AS having trouble here given the DL/AF alliance. ATH is bold and fits the pattern. Mostly leisure like FCO. Surprised ATH came before MAD, though maybe I can see why. I assume these are seasonal, though CDG not necessarily.

I thought these had been announced previously? Notably, each of these has DL service from LGA. So what this really means is that there isn't sufficient international connection demand from these markets. I wonder what DL will redeploy those slots to - I would guess some were prime time.
