The dishonesty/ignorance displayed by Sean Fraser in this article is astonishing. Rule 1: in the digital age, physical location doesn’t equal sovereign control (hi, US CLOUD Act!). Solomon’s regulatory buck-passing to the provinces is equally disgraceful.

This investment signals that for all the Carney gov’t’s tough tariff talk they fully intend to pursue much deeper ties w/ the US & the US tech giants that are increasingly acting as an arm of US foreign & econ policy. While depending on voluntary agreements to hold them in check. Good luck with that

Agreed. Similarly, Carney's climate change policies are to assuage public concerns, not to effectively reduce GHG emissions.
