Rare's Banjo Pilot never shipped this way, but early in development the GBA racing team experimented with an impressive voxel engine for 3D terrain. Game speed, framerate and lag all made the team abandon this in favor of a more zippy "Mode 7" presentation. Would've loved to see this used elsewhere.
