This is a bit of a parlor trick and is being hyped. The images are not being generated de-novo. They are being matched with a known set of prior images or text, meaning that they reconstruct the signals recorded by brain when shown images during training. Verrrry different than reading thoughts.

Muscle memory! At 73 a recent fall only sprained my ankle, but it should have broken my arm and hip. 40 years of martial arts turned it into a perfect breakfall. Hand rails and pavement care are core to not breaking anything. So many contemporaries have had falls, break bones & never leave hospital.
