But we still call white dwarfs "stars", so I was technically wrong.
Show PostYes, but using the same term for two very different things can be confusing.
Show PostMy fave part of that is that planets consumed by their stars when they're AGB play a big role in shaping PNe, so the name isn't 100% wrong. :) I'm going to think about this more. Might be a fun article to write...
Show PostI was thinking that about BHs as well. I'm not sure where I fall on all this. "Neutron degenerate compact remnant" is a mouthfull, and I don't know what might be a better term.
