It is a beautiful day for a walk and we covered a lot of ground and talked to many neighbors. The little dog seemed to know where she was going, but we hadn't found her home. Then! A truck came rolling by slowly and stopped at the curb. He thought she was his friend's dog. He called and she was! 🥰

I went out to see her and she seemed deaf and perhaps mostly blind too. I picked her up and snuck her inside for a sec (Gloria didn't see), got an extra leash and some water and a little kibble. Then my animal-whisperer neighbor and I walked thru the neighborhood with her, letting her lead the way.

Sometimes Gloria's barks serve a good purpose. An hour ago she sounded a strange-dog-in-the-neighborhood alarm. I went to intervene (because she had toppled a big plant at that window earlier today) and saw a tiny, elderly mini greyhound in a pink dress wandering around all by herself.
