Abramski v. United States. Lying on 4473 (specifically 11a) is a felony. You may buy a firearm as a GIFT, but you can NOT buy a firearm in the place of the actual purchaser. If you take someone's money and buy them a gun, you will be lying on 4473 and committing a crime.
