Should be a huge story. 18 year old died in a police precinct after an arrest on the Fourth of July. So far, family and friends say police explanations aren't credible. Monday, NYT does basic story. ⬇️ Yesterday, community rallied at precinct. (Very sad.) Local TV was there. Why no NYT follow-up?

Hate to be a downer but the Braidwood decision is bad news disguised as good news. The ACA’s preventive service task forces are preserved but RFK has the green light to kick off whenever he wants. The original purpose of the lawsuit was attacking access to PrEP and that will probably still happen

the core idea that can radicalize people is so simple: there is enough. there is enough food to feed everyone. enough resources to house everyone. money and technology and medicine to stop the suffering of people around the globe. once you accept that there's only one question: why don't we?
