"Gerrymander" is most commonly pronounced with a soft "g" as /ˈdʒɛr.iˌmæn.dər/ (sounding like "jerry-mander"), though the historical pronunciation based on Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry's surname uses a hard "g" as /ˈɡɛr.iˌmændər/ (sounding like "gary-mander").
