Show PostA friend just sent me a convention recording of me singing it before she passed, and I have gotten my sobbing jag out of the way for the month.
Show PostI always sang for Alice. Her whole life, I sang for her. She knew "her" songs pretty well, and some of them would summon her. The last song I sang for her, as she was dying, was "Beautiful Beast" by @taliskimberley.bsky.social. I have not been able to sing it since. I've tried. It always fails.

I tend to wake up randomly throughout the night, and today I woke up at about 7am. And I just so happened to see the single most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen in my entire life. I stayed awake for 20 mins just to watch it transform and come to an end. No photos, just witnessing and enjoying.
