Certainly. Belief though doesn't have to be mutually exclusive of fact or true knowledge, One may believe the earth is a geoid and it is fact. Common belief is an acquisition, what you hold true without a sufficient or rigorous validation. As you indicate, it is why Judaeo religions are mere belief.
