El estudio se ha realizado mediante un diseño experimental con 25 individuos de Boana punctata. Por cada 1% de agua corporal perdida, el iris se oscurecía alrededor de un 1.5%, una relación lineal, robusta y prácticamente idéntica entre individuos y métodos.
