But that threat of Akuma showing up to kill whoever the winner of the tournament was as a conceit for getting Ryu into the story, and a Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads paid off quite admirable in the end with a really dope *Zwee* fight, and Roman Reigns looked pretty great.
Show PostAkuma actually turned out way better than I expected, though honestly I do think they could have developed all of that stuff a bit better...but one of the problems with film is that it's a little overstuff, trying to serve like 12 characters and a LOT of lore at the same time.
Show PostNoah Centineo REALLY inhabited the role of Ken. He played everything so earnestly and found the comedy in paying Ken as both a glory hunting braggart AND a sensitive guy struggling with insecurity (like how he keeps checking his abs and hyping himself up with affirmations).
