I'm sure my Surface is FINE and I haven't lost any of my work and it's ALL FINE. UEFI sees the drive, so that seems promising. Booting from recovery USB didn't work, so I'm off to see the Geek Squad. Thoughts and prayers please. And suggestions!

Show PostUpdate: Reader, it was not fine. The data is irrecoverable. Most of my work was indeed backed up, so I did not lose any Voynich work, for example, or photos, or files for teaching, but I did lose a few chapters of the textbook I'm writing, which is a bummer. I've got no one to blame but myself!
