The lab equipment in Young Frankenstein is very literally the same lab equipment from the "real" Frankenstein.

Strickfaden replied that he had all the equipment in his garage and would loan it to them for $1,000. Brooks paid him $2,500 and also made sure that Strickfaden's name, which was not in the credits for 1931 Frankenstein, was included in the credits for Young Frankenstein.

it's really noticeable because we have an absolute surfeit of theory of mind and are super attuned to it, like it's the uncanny valley-est of our traits

interesting, yeah. i don't have a good feeling for why it happens either. like, i kinda feel like i understand why models tend to lack... hum, idk how to describe it, but 'social awareness'? the habit of writing comments or documents that presume knowledge that an audience can't have.
