There is a tendency in the politics of this country to reify popular anger but not look into whether that translates into electoral change. I’m glad conservative folks are angry and protesting, but if they won’t punish their leaders by voting them out, it is just noise and easy to ignore.

his go-to move, going back to the "Paul Ryan is a serious wonk" days, is offering false compliments to powerful conservatives so that other powerful conservatives promote him as a serious, even-handed thinker. It's a fundamentally dishonest schtick but a hugely profitable one.

You keep wagging your finger at the voters, but you need to realize that will never work. You can't shame people into voting. People lost faith in politics because whenever the Dems had all the power, they would still find a way to mess up and let us down. Get mad at the people who deserve it.
