Big time. The piss take is the Council gifted the land to Man Met Uni as recreational usage. They abandoned the site in the 90s & now want to sell it for development. They need to gift it back to the community.

There’s a primary school next to the site. There is a serious risk to children’s health if this goes ahead as well as local residents. I’ve seen some Labour members not giving a shit and are happy to gloss over this serious risk. You guys need a reality check.

You don’t have to live in the area to object. It would be good if any experts in contamination land could help to object. The Environmental Agency concur the site plans to remedy the land are insufficient & it’s best to leave the area alone.
