I do think an interesting phenomenon among the "chattering fascist" wing of the movement is the constant effort to turn whatever their preferences are into some kind of objective signal of superiority.

of course, one of the other principles of good dialogue is “the primary purpose of dialogue is to learn”. i guess if you want to *defeat* someone against their will, you can define them for your own purposes.
