I think arguing who’s worse, Tories or Labour, is besides the point, which is that both are not meaningfully different from each other and in fact are part of the same political project and both have led us to where we are now.

This is true but also misses what has happened: weeks of screaming, all-channels denunciation that has determinedly refused to ask whether or not it is racist. This helpfully demonstrates that none of the MPs or commentators who have been talking about it give a flying fuck what is real or not.
