Why is it the cozy addicts who lash out like in these screenshots? Bc seeking out frictionless media means you aren't engaging with difficult feelings through art. You start treating your comfort as holy, and anything challenging that as evil. So you seek more comfort, and lash out more, cyclically

Maybe I'm a big dumb goober but "cozy horror" doesn't seem like a thing that can exist because of how words work?

Like the closest example I've come across is the horror survival game Darkwood. Like it FEELS cozy at times, but there is always unease and danger permeating the atmosphere. But idk if that counts because I've never thought of it like that till now.

You can create some horror in the contrast (like Happy Tree Friends or Bugsnax) of the two aesthetics clashing for effect, you can get coziness in horror (STALKER, sitting around a campfire), but some people want "the aesthetics of ghosts and halloween but nothing bad happens"

just constantly alternating between "doc sucks, this article is bad, he says he hates anyone who plays a game he didn't even mention in the article, he says he doesn't like cozy games even though the article begins and ends with him talking about wanting to make a cozy game" and "I KNOW POETRY"
