Show PostOr could it be that they were ahead to start with? And increasing their orbit altitude slows them down to get closer?
Show PostChanging orbital altitude (and with that orbital period) is the way you move towards or away from objects in space. In this case, moving into a slightly higher orbit means you are slowly moving away from the other satellite. You can next move towards the satellite again by moving to a lower orbit.
