USA issues visas centrally that cover all 50 states. It operates as a unitary state. Schengen countries don’t do that. They are individual sovereign countries in a union.

Again, weird to write an entire thread about British 'attacks on Schengen' (what attacks, really??) and to ignore MSs like Denmark and their unilateral border checks, or German racial profiling of people on the Warsaw-Berlin train just going about their business. The UK is no threat to Schengen fcol

Indeed but I feel the key point is that the EU recognised the drawbacks with 90/180. While it may have moved for creative artists it remains that for the very group identified in 2014 there remains no lawful way to stay more than 90 days.

There is a particular code to his didactic ramblings. For example every time he writes “Europe” he usually means “the EU” even though it would be shorter to write “EU” and much clearer too. There’s a particular affectedness and point to be made by using the word “Europe” instead.
