I come back to Troy Jackson saying a “shut up”’of disbelief when Collins says a protester is one of his. And he is reprimanded for inadequate respect to HER. No one reprimands her for disrespecting him, which she did & more directly. Hopefully, people see where the true toxicity lies; with Collins!

I think this is what I’m saying? The personal is political. The impulses are connected. So many people normalize or downplay social control and suppression at a mass scale because they were led to believe interpersonally it’s a normal dynamic. It’s brave and a miracle when folks break out of that.

I think it's more than that - a main unspoken promise of the GOP is that they will stop your kids from displeasing you and return them to your total control.

I’m not shocked that in this moment of widespread normalization of toxic behavior folks are being shamed for setting boundaries w/ abusive family members. I imagine most of the impulse to normalize and downplay the berating, lying, manipulation & narcissism of public figures starts at home.
