I spoke with the @nytimes.com about Mamdani’s vision of expanding childcare. I do think childcare cost and access matter for higher parity childbearing choices - if, and when, to have another child. More importantly, quality, dependable childcare is beneficial for children and parents.

American citizens should not have to live in fear for themselves and their family, just for existing in our country with brown skin. Even illegal immigrants do not deserve to live in this kind of fear. And no one should have to be in fear their government will murder them at will. This is not ok.
