I was 'somewhat' surprised she didn't remember me lugging furniture about in front of her eyes to get to plugs, and then going to the recycling centre to drop off the old player along with loads of other stuff with her, and then her watching things on it. Bit worrying.

So, while I was back last month I got her a new DVD player, which she watched me install. I wrote instructions on how to use it. I had her practice, and then we watched two episodes which she enjoyed. I just asked if she'd watched any more. "I don't have a DVD player" Which was news to me.

It is when I watch the day begin from the train and the clouds are gone and the sun is bright and my mood lifts, my mind is bright, and my entire body reacts with physical relief that I realise I'm about as sophisticated as a plant.

Birdie is a lot brighter eyed today and alert. She’s eating and drinking well. She is much more comfortable. Our vet team wanted to observe her broken hip. If I’m totally honest I thought she would be long gone by now. 🤞
