Saturday mornings are all about a slow, relaxing start for me. So today there's Sade's sensual, elegant Love Deluxe on the turntable. And Bill Withers' Still Bill. Lean on Me. Use Me. Let Me In Your Life. Lonely Town Lonely Street. I mean, it's rock solid from top to bottom. An absolute classic.

Show PostIt's crucial to own at least one Isaac Hayes LP. I have many but my personal go-to pick (esp. for a Saturday evening) is Hot Buttered Soul. Not only Hayes' masterpiece but a soul masterpiece. Only 4 tracks... but what a trip this record is. The 18+ mins. closer alone is worth the price of admission.

It's stripped-down, unadorned. Like having the man play the blues right in front of you. Gave it a spin and had a blast.
