The term MLE for Multicultural London English was coined in the 2000s, in case this is the term anyone’s looking for. Getting my white middle class teenage daughter to stop calling me bruh is an impossibility. But then she does attend Mandem School for Girls.

The "white kids sounding like Topboy" is part of it. Slang/accents once marked as racial signifiers would seem to have become more mixed for younger generations, who may find our attempts to resegregate them as preposterous and weird as our grandads thinking "cool" or "hip" were jazz musician words.
