And yes, it's manipulation. It's utterly irresponsible, naive, malpractice, negligence to take a rapist at their word that they've changed. My own best friend had NO IDEA my husband was a rapist until I told her. We were together 7 yrs. There's no world where you're justified accepting that apology.
