Been reading Guardian reviews and watching trailer of ‘lo Capitano’ . Looks wonderfully filmed and a hard but must-watch. Trump may denegrate similar migrants and such developing countries but these are the bravest souls and new-age pioneers. Heading to @maccsilkscreen.bsky.social to watch today.

Wasn’t entirely sure about “The Crime is Mine” tonight at @maccsilkscreen.bsky.social but came in good faith and absolutely loved it! Felt like a cross between an old style feel good film and a hammy but theatrical stage performance (which it was originally). Formidable!

Lily Farhadpour (reminding me ever so slightly of lustful Carry On Hattie Jaques) is sublime in the gentle dark Iranian comedy of ‘My Favourite Cake’ viewed at my inaugural @maccsilkscreen.bsky.social tonight. Best new film seen this year for me. www.theguardian.com/film/2024/fe...
