Our St Mary’s Heritage Volunteers have led fascinating tours of St Mary’s and the graveyard and helped to run and welcome visitors to our Wednesday Café. Our Dunston Staiths Stewards have enabled us to open the Staiths to the public five times, giving more people chance to explore this iconic site.

Today we celebrate 20 years of the Glasshouse International Centre for Music (formerly known as Sage Gateshead). This iconic venue is one of my favourite places in Gateshead. It’s also one of the most photographed buildings in the North East.
