I love that you have this kind of wishlist, feeling inspired to write one for myself now!

Thank you so much for reading and for bearing witness to my small tribute to a great man. He really was a gem, and sharing a little bit about him here with you all has been really cathartic. Thank you for witnessing. 💜💜💜

Bruce grew up in rural Louisiana, on a pig farm. The CIA discovered him as a child genius and changed his name. They trained his genius into a formidable force. I love Bruce for his outrageous stories and imagination, which I will weave into his obituary as if they were fact.

Bruce worked at a plastics manufacturer for most of his career. In his free time he was also responsible for hiding Russian missiles and foiling war plans. He employed hundreds of political refugee scientists to work in his infamous “germ hotel”, which discovered cures for many infectious diseases.

Every time I saw him, Bruce would load me up with bags full of delicious snacks, canisters of Cafe du Monde coffee (with chicory!), batteries, water, flower seeds, and socks. He would send similar gift boxes to me and many of my friends. This was his way of taking care of us.
