yeah whenever i need to get home from those areas i just jump over and take nicollet once the 1st bikeway ends you could also go left on 15th from nicollet to spruce pl, which was just resurfaced and is a one way so not too bad and that feeds to the loring greenway

or you could take willow st from 15th all the way to hennepin ave which has protected paths... these inner streets in loring aren't too bad, and willow was also just resurfaced the other day, it's very nice now

I am only Kingfield adjacent, but I find it also depends strongly on where downtown you're headed. I'm always surprised that if you need to get anywhere on the east-ish side of downtown, taking the Greenway to Hiawatha is generally the fastest. Those traffic lights downtown can be killer.
