Show PostRight now they're saying, we don't want it unless we can avoid FoM. Whereas, knowing you can't avoid the acquis, you need to create value in that.
Show PostIt's a nice analogy. But once you are haggling internally, the oppositon can always say you've failed. Whereas if the goal is membership, the oppostion can't say you've failed whatever terms you agree before the ref. You need people to want Europe, not just to get a bargain.
Show PostIt would be helpful to start the discussion with, what is freedom of movement. What the UK had and what is allowed were not the same thing. It is possible to restrict movement and not be in breach. It is a freedom to seek work, it was never a freedom to claim benefits and this was never explained.

When you listen to Brits wanging on about how they joined an ‘economic organisation’ & the EU magically changed the goalposts, we need to go right back to basics - to the end of WWII.
