I clean my car before an MOT becuase I think it helps it pass. When I do this, I imagine I'm working under direction from Winston Wolfe in Pulp Fiction. I find this helps me focus on the really messy parts.

Frustrated about and tired of being a go-between, I suggested my wife message my mother directly. I now realise this was a terrible mistake. A truly horrific mistake.

I work at a library that still issues fines to kids and teens for late books. I don't fine them. Because it's ridiculous to give a child a negative experience of books, & equally ridiculous to punish students for working hard. I always make the fines disappear from their account.

The wife is upset that I installed a second dishwasher after removing a cabinet. You'd think she'd be happy so she can load the old one how she pleases while I do what I want with the new one, preventing dishwasher arguments. Can't win.
