At the @hubrechtinstitute.bsky.social, @thecleverslab.bsky.social developed a primary human adult alveolar #organoid model that allows for long-term expansion of alveolar progenitor and differentiated cell types, to study how inflammation affects alveolar regeneration. 🫁

This is a fluorescent #microscopy image of a ‘mini-gut’ grown in a petri dish in the lab. We use 3D ‘organoids’ like this to replicate the structure and function of specific organs - in this case, the small intestine 🧪🔬
