I was thinking about the fellow who tore a man out of his 4WD during the Haines attack. Good man. But a hundred men in the same situation may have acted differently. They may have been fine men, but 80 years old, or on their way home from hernia surgery. The word man feels like a bad definition.
Show PostBut I don’t see it as what a “man” needs. Cowardice is also a human trait. Defining people by the sort of conflict they should be good at is just a bit odd.
Show PostMy husband's grandfather was an electrician at MGM from the silent era up into the 50's. Katherine Hepburn loved him because he knew how to light her, she insisted he work all of her films & they were great friends. 🙂
Show PostI’m not certain that claiming characteristics of men are strength and protection. Some men aren’t very strong and aren’t good at protecting others, and they’re valid people. Simple definitions rarely fit people.
