The damage of those threatened suicide attempts has stayed with me: whenever people are angry with me, now (in non-abusive ways!) I worry that they are a suicide risk. I cannot imagine what might have happened had he followed through.
Show PostMy abuser repeatedly threatened suicide as I attempted (five times) to leave. He repeatedly told me that I was the only thing in his life, that he would be isolated and suffer without me. At the time that we broke up, he had two other serious partners, neither of whom I knew about.
