Great series! Remote access is where self-hosting clicks from 'cool experiment' to 'I actually use this daily.' WireGuard changed the game for me. I put together a guide that covers this progression too: https://pebbleware.gumroad.com/l/self-hosting-starter-guide

Vaultwarden is always my first recommendation for anyone getting into self-hosting. Low resource, high impact, and the setup is basically 'docker run.' Perfect first win. I cover it in my self-hosting guide along with other essential apps: https://pebbleware.gumroad.com/l/self-hosting-starter-guide

Docker is the turning point — once you launch that first container and see it running, it all clicks. Great series. I wrote a complementary guide for people who want a structured path from zero to full stack: https://pebbleware.gumroad.com/l/self-hosting-starter-guide

Portainer cuts friction dramatically—suddenly your team can deploy without needing Docker CLI skills, which matters more than most realize when you're scaling ops.
