It already stopped working because GDP per capita isn't growing, we're just kicking the can down the road, and don't even kick it too far. Plus, immigration is not a sustainable source of labour to rely on! It can dry out (Easter European immigration already did), what's next then?

Biraderi culture is both very patriarchal and misogynistic and emphasises "community" solutions to problems that encourage cover up and conspiracy of silence. You have to be wilfully blind to pretend it isn't, or that the cultural, social and political values of Pakistan are liberal democratic.
