美国新泽西州食品进口商盖勒特环球集团（Gellert Global Group）10月20日向美国国际贸易法院起诉，挑战特朗普对部分加拿大商品征收的50%关税，要求停止执行并退还已缴税款及利息。特朗普7月20日首次援引《1930年关税法》第338条，对涉及汽车、酒类及乳制品争端的商品加税，8月22日起实施。原告称，后续立法已使这项旧条文失效；即使仍有效，政府也未满足认定对美贸易歧视等法定前提。
