I own copyright on the vast majority of cover art I’ve created. And yes, I own the right to make prints of that art. But even when fans demand I make prints upon book release, I don’t do it @ that time. Why? Because I want the author and publisher to make $$$$$. But those art rights remain mine.

These are storied magazines. Authors have long careers entwined with them. Some of the best editors of my lifetime worked there. I know authors who were in tears getting acceptances there. MRM turning them into a content farm for rights is repugnant.

Writer Beware is a great resource for looking up potentially problematic publishers. They published this updated history of MRM’s rights grabs yesterday. Their history lesson on MRM will be better than mine.
