A lot of railroaders have a very unsympathetic view towards trespassers. I’m not the type to go “well that’s karma” but it’s a fact that trespassing on the railroad can and will get you killed. Plain and simple. Be safe. Be smart. Be aware.
Show PostI guess one last point, perhaps a bit callous: I use the word “trespasser” very deliberately. If you’re in the crossing while the gates are down and lights are flashing, you’re a trespasser. If you’re on the tracks and not at a crossing, you’re a trespasser.
Show PostI’m begging people to be more safe around trains. I know how frustrating it can be to sit and wait and I know how long UP trains are nowadays. But wait till the gates are up and lights are off. It’s a few minutes of inconvenience but the alternative is death.
