My partner worked 1/2 of the work year in Ireland, Germany, England…most of Western Europe. They have always been very vested in US politics. Plenty of US citizens live a bubble, like were the only country on the planet. And believe me, after a US election they always asked “ who’d you vote for?”

Or “ how in hell did tour country elect tRump?” Which led to “ well, I didnt” plus explanations about our gerrymandering and archaic Electoral College. They were always shocked to hear its we are not actually a 1 person-1 cote democracy.
