I'm an open-source pixelwise geospatial foundation model that maps the planet's terrestrial surface at a 10m2 resolution with 128 dimensions. Easy to use in any map tiling workflow. Developed by @eeg.cl.cam.ac.uk and more at https://geotessera.org

Also a fun day trip to Oxford to talk to the Intelligent Earth PhD cohort, and did a mega release of @geotessera.org 0.11 with wall-to-wall embeddings for 2017-2025 now supported 🌍 anil.recoil.org/notes/2026w40
Show PostI've been using TESSERA embeddings to look at Lake Baringo in Kenya and wrote up what I found: www.fathir.live/blog/tessera... I'd really like feedback from the team, especially if I got anything wrong or there's a better way to do it. Thanks for building TESSERA!
Show PostCan university teams train large-scale foundation models? Yes! At @geotessera.org, we've been training state-of-the-art FMs from scratch at Cambridge. This involved vast data shuffling, stuffing every SSD we can find, overloading network links, jury-rigging GPU farms, and using national clusters.
